allison got nez's autograph FO' FREE

This page is basically just here so that I can brag about my Michael Nesmith autograph and I think it speaks to the fact that Nez is actually a really nice guy, or at least Bubba Crutch is. (Side note: Is Bubba Crutch still the VR foreman? I heard rumors that Victoria, Nez's wife, is now. Maybe it was always her. I'm confused.) Here's the story:

In 2002, I ordered a bunch of shit from Videoranch including all of the First National Band CDs and a Magnetic South t-shirt, as well as Elephant Parts on VHS (they must have either had a really big sale or my mom loved me an extra lot when I wanted all of that). When I ordered it, I also sent along a humble little note on mini-notebook paper that proclaimed my love for Michael Nesmith and I begged him to please please please sign my copy of Elephant Parts.

Well, my order arrived and I excitedly ripped open the box and after examining the merchandise, I realized that there was no signature. I was so disappointed and bitter. I couldn't believe that he could sign every bloody copy of Neftoon Zamora and not my lowly little VHS. Whatever.

So that weekend, I remember it was a Saturday, I checked the mail and lo and behold, there was another package from Videoranch. I didn't understand, because I'd already received all of my stuff. I opened it and there, in all of its shiny glory, was a copy of Elephant Parts on DVD, signed by Michael Nesmith. I almost cried. In fact, I think I did cry.

I guess the autograph wasn't TECHNICALLY free, but it was because I didn't ask for the DVD and yet, it made its way to my mailbox. And because at that time we didn't have a DVD player, I never took it out of the plastic wrap, although now I kind of want to just to touch the same paper that Nez did. WOW I'M A CRAZY STALKER. Anyway, it'll probably stay there. Or we'll see.

Here's a picture of my DVD and my autograph, featuring my lovely red bedspread!
